Sister Helen Prejean's original Dead Man Walking included a wealth of context in hundreds of footnotes.

Rather than litter the graphic version of the book with footnotes, we'll be placing them here.

The book was first published in 1993. Some of the footnotes come from that edition, but we've updated page numbers to link the notes to the graphic book. We've also added other notes to provide more recent context and history.
